[sticky entry] Sticky: A post which sticks

Now that I've somewhat improbably begun to make custom content, I should probably have somewhere to list it all. So.

So, lemme get this straight.

- Kits are bad because they're "microtransactions", meaning ways you can pay RL money to get an in-game advantage other people have to work for.
- Except that kits are also bad because they don't contain "gameplay" items, i.e. anything that's not purely cosmetic like clothes and furniture.
- Also they're a "cash grab" because they cost less than stuff packs.

Give me a fucking break.

Six funky (Scandinavian, apparently?) patterns, five groovy colors, thirty swatches in total. Go forth and wallpaper.

I might be going to the Ren faire this weekend. Or I might not, we’ll see. Get comfortable with those swatches, by the way, you’ll be seeing them again.

Patch is nifty but I wanted some subtler texture on these babies!

Everyone: Ooh time to make rad floaty dresses and pointy hats and spellbooks and cool glowy stuff!
Me: uhhhh here's a piece of fabric I guess?

Yeah no, honestly I just wanted some more versatile colors of this thing. So I did it in Aelia’s Jewels palette (an oldie but a goodie); each color has a solid swatch and one with fancy metallic trim. Excellent for psychic parlors, witch's cottages, castle bathrooms etc.

Requires mesh from PlumbobTeaSociety.

Cepzid Sims made a real nifty mesh, and the second I saw it I said to myself, "Self, that dress needs to come in vintage allover prints!" So now it does.

So there was a request to make these lawn signs for the Sims, which seemed like a pretty straightforward thing to do!

They come in all the designs shown in the link, plus a Simlish slogan and a plumbbob for good measure. You will need Sandy's signboard to use it.

Because I like the shape of this thing, but not that the only colorway it comes in is asphalt-on-mustard with a dopey little decal.
Recoloring it was unreasonably complicated, but I have done it! The laces are a little wonky, but not much wonkier than the original.

Turns out there are relatively few EA meshes for this game that I dislike, but there is a crying lack of patterns. So I'm fixing that. Patterns by Pattern Cooler, Colourlovers, and Corel.

Most of these were done for the Garden of Shadows monthly Sim challenge, back in the day. I forgot I'd packaged a bunch of them! So here they are, for any of you faithful holdouts who require new blood.

I lovelovelove [personal profile] aquilegia's "Petals" -- it was one of the first things I hunted down -- and usually I am all about the neutrals, but I wanted to try my hand at clothes, and Aquilegia provided some handy base textures, and here we are. I didn't do EF because a) I don't think I'd ever use them and b) I got bored, but as always you should feel free to tinker with them. Meshes included, yellow and purple not shown, void where prohibited, not for resale.

I got distracted by other things, and then by other other things, and then I got an email from EA telling me I had the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection and it seemed impolite not to play with it at least once.

So I am back in the Land of Two for a bit. But of course all my 2 CC is on my old dead desktop, so I've had to track stuff down -- including those 3105 eyes of Helaene's that were a hell of a pain to find the FIRST time. And when I got them installed I realized they needed geneticized and towniefied.

So I did that. And here they are for the reference of my future self on yet another computer setup, and also anyone else too lazy to wrangle yet another elderly eyeset themselves. They are not altered in any way except to make them genetic and townie-enabled. Dark blues, dark grays and browns are dominant, greens, light colors and violet are recessive. Any necessary credit goes to Helaene and not me. No purchase necessary. Void where prohibited. Limit one per customer per visit. Please keep arms, legs, and head inside the download at all times.
