- Huh. Dude I'm playing had a pregnant friend over, and then suddenly she was in labor, so he drove her to the hospital? Now he has a +80 moodlet just as if it was his own kid.

- Ever since I installed Story Progression this town is a massive soap opera. The kind where absolutely everybody is related by blood, marriage, or both.

- Also I want to fix some of the flavor text so bad. "We don't like each other... and I think the feeling is mutual!" AGH.

- I like that there are consequences to mediocre parenting that aren't "kid is taken away forever". It's one thing to deliberately starve your child and another if you don't make him do his homework every single frickin' day.

- I also really enjoy the books for toddlers. Not that I was a book freak from age two myself, or anything. >_>

Whoa whoa whoa. Why didn't anybody TELL me that if you click on a need-related moodlet -- exhausted, smelly, &c. -- it automatically queues the proper action?

GAME CHANGER

this almost makes up for my current family getting themselves banned from China.

The bad news is, I never did manage to get Sims 2 revived. The good news is, I have a new laptop that will actually run Sims 3, which between you and me and the bedpost was the game I actually wanted in the first place. (Presumably that means it can even cope with S2 as well, if I get nostalgic.)

Weird Sims Logic of the day: I took my eye off my Inappropriate matriarch for one minute and she was making a move on her son-in-law (Zhan Su, late of Shang Simla). This is hilarious and awful but not the weird part; what's weird is that her son now has a negative relationship with Zhan and not with her, despite the fact that poor Zhan was all WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOU LADY.

Pity there's not a Psychiatrist career. Kid's gonna need one.

Here I was, just getting back into Simming, all ready to start posting a RKC, and my game won't start. It was fine yesterday, today I go to run it and it cancels itself every time.

So this Body Shop thing. It's pretty cool, eh? Shut up, I am ~*fashionably late*~. Retro, even. Anyway, now that it works for me I have joined [livejournal.com profile] pixel_trade and hey! This "Kids for Diversity" thing, that sounds like fun. (Did I mention late?)

Four kiddie sims, packaged without CC for your decorating pleasure. )

Since my Sims got devoured in the installing of Freetime, I have no Mandragora update. On the plus side, I now have a functioning Body Shop, so I may extract some of the cuter ones (CARMEN ;_;) from Backup Limbo and post them soon.

In the meantime, I have for you a ~Dreamwidth exclusive~.

these dreams: paintings by Virginia Sterrett on 'Grilled Cheese'

Sterrett illustrated a couple of children's books -- these are from the Greek Myths -- and died of TB in her early thirties. Her stuff is AMAZING. Requires Nightlife.

Now that I've somewhat improbably begun to make custom content, I should probably have somewhere to list it all. So.

I'm just gonna admit up front that this is a boring update. But since I don't think anybody's actually reading it, that's okay. :P Mainly I just don't want to totally lose track of what's happening.

I cannot get the hang of numbering, but roughly this is Gen 3, yes. And I apologize for the picture quality, because I cannot tell if they're really all that yellow or if my monitor has just suddenly gone wonky. Sigh.

I am not going to chronicle all the other branches any more because they keep having FIVE MILLION KIDS, but here are some quick updates:
